Please read below to find out about our role and key events in school.
Pupil Librarian Conference
We were invited to attend the Libraries for Primaries first ever Pupil Librarian Conference in Durham City. We participated in a range of workshops to gather and share ideas to develop a love reading in our federation.
We listened to inspirational authors, we wrote notes on each workshop and then we visited Durham City library to evaluate their library space through tasks. We then worked as a team to set up a display for the author Jeff Kinney using his famous Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. We had to think carefully about how to display these books to maximise the space and to spark curiosity in the author. At the end of the day, we had a huge surprise...Jeff Kinney himself came to deliver an inspirational workshop and we even got the chance to compete against other schools in a competition and we won. The prize was some Jeff Kinney Merchandise, in addition to a signed copy of his brand new book along with the full catalogue of his books for school.
